QR sticker questions
Is the QR code generator really free?
Yes. Generate as many codes as you like and download them as PNG or SVG at no charge, with no account. You only pay if you choose to have stickers printed.
What's the difference between a static and a dynamic QR code?
A static code has the content baked in — the web address, Wi-Fi details, or contact card is literally encoded in the pattern. It works forever and needs no service behind it, but it can't be changed after printing. A dynamic code points to a redirect service that can be updated later, usually for a subscription fee, and stops working if that service does. Grabatee makes static codes only.
Can I change where the code points after my stickers are printed?
No — that's the nature of a static code. If the destination might change, link to a page you control (like your homepage or a short page on your own site) and update that page instead of the sticker.
Will my QR code scan after it's printed?
We print your design exactly as you approved it, at 300 DPI, with a 4-module clear margin kept around the code and nothing allowed to overlap it. The studio also warns you if the modules would be too fine for the sticker size. If your browser supports it, the preview is decoded back on the spot; either way, scan the preview with your phone before ordering — and always test one printed sticker before handing out the batch.
What size should a QR sticker be?
It depends on how much you encode and how far away people scan from. A short web address on a 2″ sticker scans easily from arm's length; a full contact card wants 3″ or more. The studio shows the module size for your exact content and flags anything under 0.4 mm per module, which is where most phone cameras start to struggle at normal distance.
Can I add my logo?
Yes — upload a PNG, JPG, SVG, or WEBP and it's placed beside or above the code (your choice of layout). We never put artwork on top of the code itself, because that's the most common reason printed codes fail to scan.
Is my information private?
The code is generated entirely in your browser; nothing you type is sent to Grabatee while you design. If you order, the finished artwork (which contains the code) is attached to your order so we can print it, and we record the code type and a short description — never a Wi-Fi password — on the order. Your design is kept in this browser tab only until you close it.
Which sticker types and finishes are available?
Square, rectangle, circle, oval, die cut, and kiss cut, from 2″ to 7″, on 6 mil UV-printed vinyl with a matte finish. Protective gloss or matte laminate and crack-and-peel backing are optional upgrades on the order page.
How long does printing take?
3–5 business days after you approve your artwork and place the order, with free shipping. Your approval happens on the order page before checkout.
Can I use the downloaded QR code somewhere else?
Absolutely. The free PNG and SVG downloads are yours to use on menus, flyers, packaging, or your website. The SVG scales to any size without losing sharpness. It also carries a small Grabatee credit line outside the code's scan area — it sits in its own group and deletes in one click.
